CATS ‘N’ DOGS’ colorful doormats are a cheery way to welcome friends into the home of the animal lover. The vivid dyes used in the manufacture of these doormats resist fading and the mats feature a non-slip foam backing. They are intended for indoor or outdoor use and, if they get dirty, they can simply be hand washed, hosed down and left to air dry. The beautiful designs are by a number of artists including Lesley Anne Ivory, whose drawings of cats are beloved worldwide. Most of the dog paintings are by Pollyanna Pickering, who has repeatedly been honored as Europe’s foremost wildlife artist and also is known for her work involving animal charities. Whether realistic or fanciful in design, these doormats are a great addition to the home of the dog lover or cat fancier. And they make great gifts, too. |

Our pewter-finish, breed-specific windchimes will provide
years of pleasure anywhere around your home. Produced by hand-casting
molten metal into individual sand molds, these beautifully detailed
chimes feature a clear, resonant tone. The sound quality is especially
notable in a large chime, which, if poorly made, can have a “clunky”
sound. These chimes are sizable, with each figure about 4” to 5” long,
depending on breed. But their sound is true and clear. We offer a
selection of 40 dog-breed windchimes in our on-line
catalog. Additional breeds are available and new breeds are added
from time to time, so if you don’t see the breed that interests you
in our catalog,
send us an e-mail
and we’ll advise you as to availability and e-mail you an image of
the chime. If you live in or are visiting the Chicago area, stop and
see us at our shop in Geneva, Illinois. In addition to our dog windchimes
shown here you’ll find an even wider selection of windchimes, plus
cat-themed birdfeeders, garden stakes and other accessories to add
charm to your lawn and garden areas. |

Our hand-painted tiles and coaster sets are made in
New Mexico. We have been buying these wonderful pieces from the artist
for almost 15 years. Every tile we sell is oak-framed, like the Dachshund
tile shown at the beginning of our on-line catalog section. The tiles
themselves are 6” x 6,” plus the oak frame, and can be used as trivets.
If you don’t want to set your hot teapot on the tile, the oak frames
are pre-drilled to hang on the wall, or the tiles can be displayed
on a plate stand. More than 50 breed-specific tiles are included in
our on-line catalog. Other breeds are available and the artist, Pumpkin,
adds new designs periodically. If you don’t see what you’re looking
for, send us an e-mail.
We may have it in our store in Geneva, Illinois. We can advise you
regarding availability and, if available, e-mail you an image. Every
breed available as an oak-framed tile also is available as a four-tile
coaster set in an oak holder. |

CATS ‘N’ DOGS stocks an unmatched inventory of dog
figurines by a variety of manufacturers and in sizes ranging from
miniatures to life-size pieces. Our mid-size dog figurines featured
here are among our favorites not only for their striking realism but
also for their delightful and imaginative poses and alert expressions.
These figures are produced by Conversation Concepts, the same company
that makes Doogies, featured elsewhere in our on-line catalog. Different
breeds are added to this mid-size line from time to time, and CATS
‘N’ DOGS will update our on-line
catalog as they become available. In the meantime, as with any
section of this catalog, send us an e-mail
if you don’t see what you want. We will be happy to advise you regarding
availability and to send you an image of the item, if available. |

In the mid-1930s, as Americans struggled to survive the Great
Depression and watched warily world events that would lead to World
War II, in a small California town the Kit-Cat Klock was born. With
his rolling eyes and wagging tail, Kit-Cat brought a smile to a nation
in need of some good news. Kit-Cat became an immediate hit and, essentially
unchanged for 70 years except for the substitution of batteries for
an electric cord, Kit-Cat remains a favorite today. The clocks, which
still are made in California, are nothing less than a modern American
tradition and often handed down from generation to generation. Many
Baby Boomers have memories of a Kit-Cat Klock hanging in the kitchen
of their parents or in the home of a relative. Or Kit-Cat may be recalled
for easing a child’s fears as he smiled down from the office wall
of the doctor or dentist. CATS ‘N’ DOGS features the classic white-on-black
Kit-Cat Klock. Although “limited edition” versions in various colors
have been offered through the years, the white-on-black model was
the original Kit-Cat 70 years ago and also the first battery-operated
Kit-Cat Klock when the switch to batteries was made in 1989. It is
the only model in continuous production at the California factory.
